Who We Serve

The Chinsapo Rainbow Home Based Care Centre serves members of the community in a number of capacities. While our vision is to improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children living in Chinsapo, the organization lives out this goal through a diverse array of programs and projects. At present, in terms of services for people living with HIV/AIDS, we provide 412 HIV-positive individuals with access to the Home Based Care program and its volunteers through their participation in the Ndife Amodzi (We are One) program. 35 volunteers serve this community, which thankfully has, at present, a very low number of chronically ill patients due to access to ARV treatment.  Our HIV/AIDS support groups, including the Circles of Hope programs for spiritual support, are comprised of 88 adult members and 28 youth.

In terms of serving orphans and vulnerable children, the Community Based Child Care Centre cares for 172 children, 82 of whom are orphans. The ten volunteers who serve this group make sure every child is fed, looked after and loved each day. The Secondary School is now a place of education for 112 students, with the numbers increasing each month due to the hard work of our volunteers. The Chinsapo Rainbow Home Based Care Centre is also paying the school fees of 8 orphans in secondary school, and 33 orphans in technical college, with hopes of expanding these numbers once more financing becomes available.
